To give and not to receive

Albert Paine once said "what we do for ourselves dies with us, what we do for others remains and in immortal" I believe giving is not for the satisfaction of being remembered but for the sake of sharing what one owns that others may need. A country like ours, Madagascar needs us to have giving hearts, contribute in any level and for any reasons: social, environmental, musical, religious, the list is non exhaustive. For it is through providing for others that we as civilians detached from political turmoil and the prejudicial ideas about the lack of results, that we bring changes to the lives of others. Giving is a sensitive matter, most times it start with something short term, then hopefully develops into a long term project but either way do not be discouraged by whether you have changed someone's life or not. Be assured that you have done something to help them through. Love your neighbour as you would love yourself. "Caritas" or charity means love in the perfect sense. Don't wait for the change to happen, make it happen in your own way, with your own hands and with a giving heart. Something I learnt from my elders.
